Cláudia Nóvoa began dancing at the age of six under Pirmin Treku. In 1985, she joined the cast of Ballet Gulbenkian, where she remained as prima ballerina until its extinction in 2005. She attended the Gulbenkian Program for Creativity and Artistic Creation (2004) and completed a post-graduate course in Education through Art (2007).
She has created numerous pieces, among them A Emoção da Mariposa Pairando Sobre uma Cascata de Pensamentos , Solidão aos Molhos, Solidão Fria, Nuvens de Solidão, Solidão com Todos, Beladepasmar, Berna, nº49 Kramgasse, Ela e o Mundo, o Mundo Nela, Olhos de Areia, Mar de Gente, Mundo Mar, Amor aos Retalhos, Uma Certa Portugalidade, and, more recently, in 2022, Um Homem e o seu Criado and Coreto Con(vida). As a choreographer, she collaborates regularly with many theater directors, such as João Lourenço, Carlos Avilez, Marco Martins, Sandra Barata Belo, Jorge Gomes, Teresa Gafeira, and João Brites. Together with José Carlos Garcia and the cast, she staged the plays Electra, ATM, Hamlet, Napoleão ou o Complexo de Épico, and Antígona for the theater company of Chapitô.
She has been teaching in different schools and education programs since 2005. In the last 16 years, she taught at Escola do Chapitô, where she created several shows and animations, among which Etapas e Utopias — Um sonho de Liberdade. She also teaches at Escola Profissional de Teatro de Cascais.
