Brazilian-born Douglas Silva, who goes by the stage name Dougie Knight, is a multifaceted artist living in Lisbon. Having started to dance Hip Hop at the age of 14, today he stands out as one of the pioneers of the KRUMP style in Portugal. Dougie has also played a crucial role in the movement's growth in Brazil, and is one of the founders of MOSJAM Associação Cultural e Artística - a platform for the promotion of street dance and clubbing. More recently, he has also been expanding his artistic research into the field of music.
In 2018, he created the Knight Fam Project, a project dedicated to training and competition within the KRUMP universe, which represented a new chapter in his professional career and in the history of dance in Portugal.
As a performer and choreographer, he has also taken part in various national and international projects, as happened with the French hip hop dance company DYPTIK. Among the works he has participated in are Memórias de uma revolução by Mónica Calle, and Periférico, by VHILS. He has presented his solo pieces at a number of national and international festivals, such as Festival Paralelo (Azores) and the KRUMP Fest (Paris).
He has won countless competitions, both in Portugal and abroad. One of the most significant was in 2020, when he was a finalist in the Summer Dance Forever Theater, one of the largest street dance and clubbing festivals in the world, in Amsterdam.
He teaches at various institutions.
