Sara Bernardo is a performer, emerging artist and contemporary dance teacher. Between 2013-14, she danced in Companhia de Dança do Norte, and participated as a performer and co-creator in projects such as European Roots Movement '14,( Germany), Benoit Maubrey - Audio Ballerinas (Espaço do Tempo), and in the making of the videodance work .5 (winner of the Audience Award at Inshadow Festival). She performed Cribles Live, by Emmanuelle Huynh-Serralves / Companhia Instável, The No Thing, Justin(e), and Mysterium Coniunctionis by Joana Von Mayer Trindade. In 2015, she attended F.A.I.C.C. at Companhia Instável, and presented Rust at Teatro do Campo Alegre.
In 2020, Sara Bernardo conceived 1984, and presented it at Teatro do Campo Alegre (Palcos Instáveis, 2020) and at Quinzena de Dança de Almada (2021). She also created the videodance work Breathe a Little Bit Faster, Now!, which was presented at Fuso Videoarte and Inshadow Festival, where she won the_Território | Estúdios Victor Córdon_ Award for Best National Director, in collaboration with Pedro Emes Nogueira. Together, the artists directed the short film that integrated the production of Território V, in 2022.
In parallel to her artistic work, she teaches contemporary dance in different schools in the country.
