Luís de Oliveira started his dance career at the age of 8, in Ovar. Having concluded his first academic education in the humanities, he has sought his place in the artistic scene, undertaking a postgraduate course in contemporary dance at ESMAE (Porto) and, subsequently, a degree in dance at ESD (Lisbon).
In February 2022, he participated in the artist residency COMPOTA with the work Húmus (Lisbon), directed by Paula Pinto. In July of the same year, he performed in the piece Bisonte:Restage (Paris and Lisbon) by Marco da Silva Ferreira, in the context of the project New Links, part of the Saison Croisée Portugal França 2022.
He also highlights his participation in the performance Move in Touch (Lisbon) in December 2019, directed by Pedro Paz, and in the piece Dançar com...Vindimas (Santarém) in September 2022, by Círculo Cultural Scalabitano, presented as part of the In.Str 2022 Project, involving the community.
As he has been developing his training, and through contact with different strands within dance and performance, he has been discovering his own language, anchored in improvisation and real time composition. With this approach, he intends to further develop his work to create new concepts, images and textures of movement.
