João Pacheco began and completed his first musical studies in Lagos (Portugal). Initially interested in the saxophone, he decided to finish his high school studies in the variants of Composition (with Helena Rita), and Piano (concluding the 8th grade with the guidance of João Rosa). He then entered Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, where he is now taking his Masters Degree in Music Teaching, having worked with João Madureira, Sérgio Azevedo, Luís Tinoco and Carlos Caires, and participated in conferences with Kaija Saariaho and Luigi Abate, among others.
As a composer, he has participated in several multidisciplinary projects in different fields, such as choreographic composition, video, illustration and shadow play, having presented them in Algarve and in Lisbon. Recently, he won the second prize in Composition awarded by SPA / Antena 2.
In 2023, João Pacheco is one of the invited artists to join the program Young Composers at the EVC.
