Andresa Soares’s training included both the visual arts and dance, and she began her career as in the performing arts at an early age, having already created more than twenty works.
Her work spans several artistic fields, seeking to move freely between the use of words, movement, image, sound and the presence of the audience, or the deliberate omission of any of these elements, using constraint as a requirement that drives the development of the project. As a performer, she has worked in dance, theatre and film with José Laginha, Luís Castro, Nuno M. Cardoso, Ricardo Aibéo, Michel Simonot, Vera Mantero, Maria Ramos, Vanessa Garcia, Bruna Carvalho, BLITZ – Theatre Group, Patrick Mendes, Pierre Coulibeuf, Emily Wardil and Catarina Mourão, among others.
In 2002, she founded Máquina Agradável, which she co-directed with Lígia Soares until 2014.
She is currently a member of the Apneia Colectiva collective.
