Studied at the Colégio Alemão in Oporto. He has a degree in Theatre by the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema. He completed his BA in Theatre at the Escola Superior de Música e das Artes do Espetáculo.

He founded and directs with Inês Barahona the Formiga Atómica (FA). In 2021 she premiered the show "O Estado do Mundo (Quando Acordas)" (FA; co-production LU.CA - Teatro Luís de Camões, Comédias do Minho, Materiais Diversos e Théâtre de la Ville) and directed the show "Pranto de Maria de Parda", from the homonymous text by Gil Vicente (TNDMII production). In 2020, he premiered the show FAKE (FA; co-production TNDMII, TNSJ and Cineteatro Louletano).

In 2018, he premiered the show "Montanha-Russa" (FA; co-production TNDMII, TNSJ, Teatro Virgínia and Festival Terres de Paroles, in its research phase, project funded by DGArtes). In 2016 he conceived and staged the show "Do Bosque para o Mundo" (FA; co-production São Luiz Teatro Municipal), whose French version "Au-Delà de la Forêt, le Monde" (2017), was co-produced by Théâtre de la Ville (Paris) and presented at the 72nd edition of the Avignon Festival (2018). In that year, he also conceived and directed "The Scottish Visit" (FA; co-production TNDMII), "Peter, Stone and Grain" (co-production Teatro Viriato) and "The Great Xylophagy Demonstration" (Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation - Descobrir Programme). In 2015, he conceived and directed the shows "The Wall" (FA; research phase funded by DGArtes; co-production TMM, Teatro Municipal do Porto, Teatro Viriato, Teatro Virgínia, CCVF and Centro de Arte de Ovar) and "O Homem sem Rótulo" (co-production EGEAC). In 2013, he conceived, staged and performed the show "A Caminhada dos Elefantes" (FA; funded by DGArtes and co-produced by TMM, Teatro Viriato, CCVF and Artemrede), whose French version "La Marche des Éléphants" (2016) is still in circulation.

In 2013 he directed, with Giacomo Scalisi, the 5th edition of the project "Teatro das Compras", an EGEAC production within the framework of the Lisbon Festivities. He has created and interpreted several shows that were part of previous editions of the same project.

She has worked as an interpreter in shows by Jorge Andrade (Mala Voadora), Madalena Victorino, Cristina Carvalhal, Jacinto Lucas Pires, Catarina Requeijo, Giacomo Scalisi, Rafaela Santos, Vera Alvelos, Bruno Bravo, Diogo Dória, Claudio Hochmann, Pompeu José, José Rui Martins, José Carretas, Gabriel Villela, Agnès Desfosses, among others. In cinema he has worked with Pedro Palma and Maria Pinto.

She regularly develops projects of relationship between arts and education, through the creation of artistic workshops, staged visits and small shows for several institutions. She also collaborates with the publisher Orfeu Negro, through the creation of staged readings.

Miguel Fragata was responsible for staging and directing the show that was part of the Young Composers programme in 2022.
