Eva Aguilar studied cello with Luís Sá Pessoa at Escola de Música do Conservatório Nacional (Lisbon), conciliating this practice with her studies in science at Camões High School.

Currently, she is taking her Composition degree at Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, under the guidance of Jaime Reis, Carlos Caires and Luís Tinoco. Simultaneously, she studies cello with Luís André Ferreira, singing with Joana Nascimento, and is also part of the Youth Choir of the University of Lisbon, directed by Erica Mandillo.

She has participated in choral festivals in Vesoul, Turin, Basel, Strasbourg, Zurich, Perpignan, Bilbao and in concerts at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (with pianist Maria João Pires), Casa da Música, Centro Cultural de Belém, Teatro São Luiz, among others.

Between 2020 and 2022, she was invited by Plus-Minus Ensemble (UK), Divertimento Ensemble (IT), Ensemble Orbis (FR), HERMESensemble (BE), MIXTUR Festival (Barcelona), BoCA Sub 21 - Biennial of Contemporary Arts, Arte no Tempo, Sentidos Ilimitados, and Projecto DME (PT) to compose her own works. These have been played in various spaces and events, such as: Dialogues Festival (Edinburgh), Rondò 22 Festival (Milan), Festival DME, Festival Música Viva, Centro de Arte Contemporânea de Almada, Teatro Aveirense, Aula Magna da Reitoria da Universidade de Lisboa, Iglesia de San Juan Bautista (Pasaia / Leioa), Alden-Biesen Castle (Limburg).

She was recently selected by Wim Henderickx and the Centre Henri Pousseur (Liège) to present a new work in 2023 at the Alba Nova Festival (Bilzen) and the TRANSIT Festival (Leuven).

In 2023, Aguilar is one of the invited artists to join the Young Composers program at the EVC.
