Mariana Tembe was born in Maputo, Mozambique, 34 years ago. In 2006, she started her training in contemporary dance within a project called (In)Dependence, run by CulturArte. There, she danced with choreographer Panaibra Canda (Mozambique), Martial Chazalon (France), Martin Champaut (Canada), Boyzie Cekwana (South Africa) and Carlos Pez (Spain). Shows such as Mal - Embriaguez Divina, by Marlene Monteiro Freitas, and Solo for Maria, by Panaibra Gabriel Canda, have led her to perform all over the world.
