Joana Franco is a choreographer in the expanded field. She graduated in Dance in 2019 and completed a master's degree in Choreographic Creation and Professional Practices in 2023, both from Escola Superior de Dança in Lisbon. Her practice takes the moving body as its subject matter, with varying closeness to dance. Among her projects, she highlights Kaput!, a choreographic work presented as a performance-lecture and choreo-graphic laboratory.
Her collaborative work includes her participation in the EVC's Young Composers Program and her founding of the TETO collective—both involving the intersection of dance and music. After participating in ENTRAR (Culturgest) and Mutantes (BoCA), she collaborated in the development of participatory projects in Culturgest, among them Bal Moderne, Qual o Futuro da Instituição Cultural? and Tempestade Mental.
Additionally, she works in graphic design and web design for the cultural sector, with clients such as TRANSIBERIA Productions, DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte, and Orquestra Ligeira de Lagos.
