André Cabral is a professional dancer and dance teacher. He began training in hip-hop dance in 2006. He was later tutored by Vasco Alves. He then studied contemporary dance at Escola Superior de Dança (Lisbon) and did a traineeship at Companhia Portuguesa de Bailado Contemporâneo (CPBC), under the artistic direction of Vasco Wellenkamp. As a performer, he has worked mainly with Portuguese choreographers, including Clara Andermatt, Rui Horta, Paulo Ribeiro, Miguel Moreira, Marco da Silva Ferreira, Victor Hugo Pontes and Catarina Miranda.
He has been a regular presence in the projects signed by Batida since 2013 and has added collaborations beyond the stage with visual artists, photographers and directors. He recently began working in cinema, starring in the films Will-o’-the-Wisp (João Pedro Rodrigues, 2022) and Tommy Guns (Carlos Conceição, 2023).
