Amélia Caldas took dance and theater classes at A.A.C.Minhodança and participated in several dance training programs, from which she highlights PED 22, directed by Francisco Camacho, and SummerLab (intensive dance training program), an initiative of Companhia Paulo Ribeiro and Teatro Viriato, in Viseu. Graduated from the Escola Superior de Dança, she completed the Erasmus program at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU). In parallel to her studies, she presented a co-creation at Festival Entrelaçados, and several pieces at Nová Generace Festival, in Prague.
Recently, she produced a short co-creation work for the opening of the International Folklore Festival, in Porto, and presented the performance Eu acionista at the XXI Cerveira International Art Biennial. She participated in the performance Move in touch, directed by Pedro Paz, in Bem essencial, pão, água e livros, by Madalena Vitorino, and in the program Composers and Choreographers, promoted by Estúdios Vítor Córdon.
She is currently training at FOR Dance Theater.
