USA

Alexandra Zeidan began her journey in dance as a young child with classical ballet at the Boston Ballet School. The art of movement remained a strong passion throughout her life and deepened as she began to study Gyrotonic & Gyrokinesis and LABAN Movement Analysis. But it was while at university in Paris in 2013 that she first discovered the work of Isadora Duncan that redefined her relationship to the art form; connecting to the natural joy of movement experienced in dance and the potential for expression.

Drawn to Isadora's philosophy of freedom and purity in movement and musical expression, she began studying Isadora's original choreographies dating from the late 1800's from direct lineage dancers across Europe, the US, and Asia as well as the connection and influence on early modern dance styles. Alexandra continues to study early modern dance and is currently a teaching & performing artist focusing on connecting the work of Isadora Duncan to the creation of contemporary choreography.
