Cristina Peres is a journalist since 1987.

She has been part of the editorial staff of Expresso since 1992, where she worked in the Culture department and wrote dance and theater reviews.

She was in charge of coordinating these sections of the newspaper from 1998 to 2005 and coordinated the International Politics section of the same newspaper between 2005 and 2017, covering international news on the multiple media platforms of Expresso - printed version, digital version, and multimedia. She is the author, since September 2020, of the podcast "Africa Now", lauched by Expresso and dedicated to African topics.

She worked as an expert in the field of Performing Arts for Câmara Clara, a program broadcasted by RTP2 (Portuguese television's cultural channel) between 2006 and 2012. Before Expresso, Cristina worked and collaborated in several national and international newspapers and magazines. She has a degree in Philosophy from Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas (UNL).

Cristina Peres curated the 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions of A collection for Tomorrow, a program of conversations dedicated to dance and developed by EVC in partnership with Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo.
