Dancer and Choreographer
Marta Jardim is a creator and performer working in multidisciplinary projects, particularly in the fields of contemporary dance, theater, music and film. She has developed multidisciplinary authorial work, taking contemporary dance as a starting point, and moves between themes that she believes society should reflect on to become more equal.
As for her academic background, the artist has a degree in Dance from Escola Superior de Dança (ESD, 2013-16), did Erasmus + at TEAK - Theater School of Helsinki (2015) and attended the FOR training program at Companhia Olga Roriz (2016-18). In 2018, she was a trainee performer in the piece FLOW (2018) by LINGA Compagnie (Lausanne), and in Autopsy (2019), by Companhia Olga Roriz.
Among her creations, she highlights TravessiaS, which premiered at CCB's small auditorium in December 2020, and VITAL_Solo à morte de um carregador, her latest work, premiered in September 2022. This recent piece is a reflection on the harmful consequences of addiction to "virtual life" on mental health.
As a performer in dance and multidisciplinary projects, she highlights having worked with Madalena Vitorino, Olga Roriz, Filipa Francisco, Marina Nabais, Jérôme Bel, among others. Marta Jardim has also worked in theater and cinema, namely with Júlia Buisel, Francisco Manso, Rui Simões, Ricardo Cabaça, and Fátima Reis.
