Paul Bronkhorst is the Executive Director of the Transition Program for Dancers in the Netherlands.
Originally trained as a career guidance counselor at the Akademie Mens Arbeid Tilburg, he worked for six years in the private sector at a career counseling agency. In 1986 he joined the Netherlands Dance Institute as a social officer for professional dancers. Since the Institute’s establishment in 1986, Paul has been developing the Transition Program for Dancers, initially as an advisor and currently as the Executive Director.
He has served as a board member of several dance-related organizations and as a guest speaker at numerous conferences on dance. He also organized international conferences focusing on health care for dancers and career transition.
Since 2008, he is President of the International Organization for the Transition of Professional Dancers (IOTPD). As President, he collaborated with the International Actors Federation, codeveloping a handbook on Career Transition for Dancers and a project titled Dance Futures, which helps countries that want to establish Transition Support Programs.
In 2006, he won the Mirjam Bos Prize for his outstanding contribution to the dance sector in Holland.
