Dancer & Choreographer
Margarida Belo Costa started her career in the Dance Vocational School of Caldas da Rainha. She has a degree by the Escola Superior de Dança-IPL, and is a specialist in Dance Education.
As a freelancer she has developed, simultaneously, her work as a performer, choreographer and dance teacher. As a performer she has collaborated with Quorum Ballet, Teatro Mosca, Teatro Meridional, Companhia de Dança de Évora, Companhia de Dança de Almada, OPART | Teatro Nacional São Carlos and Companhia Paulo Ribeiro.
As a creator, she has been presenting her works since 2012, working with professional, semi-professional dance companies, free teaching schools, articulated regime schools, multidisciplinary and research projects, highlighting: "displaced episodes" BOX NOVA - Centro Cultural de Belém (2015), "Promise" for the Companhia Portuguesa de Bailado Contemporâneo - CPBC (2018); "P.s. Carmen" for Almada Dance Company (2018), "Our Last View" Ravenna, Italy (2019), "Faustless" NANT Festival - Teatro Viriato, Viseu (2020), and "Renova" in partnership with composer Nuno da Rocha, a Renova Art Commissions 2021 production and Apperception Plotline for the Companhia Portuguesa de Bailado Contemporâneo - CPBC (2022).
Invited to teach nationally and internationally in formations, courses, workshops and masterclasses, highlights: Escola Superior de Dança- IPL; Estúdios Victor Córdon; CAB - Centro Coreográfico Lisboa; Formação Olga Roriz, FOR - Dance Theatre and Plate-Forme AWA -Luxembourg.
Since 2016 she participates as a juror in several events, highlighting her presence as Official Jury in InShadow Lisbon Screendance Festival (13th edition, 2021).
