DANCER AND CHOREOGRAPHER
Lorena Nogal graduated as a dancer from Institut del Teatre, Barcelona, in 2005, and started dancing in the company IT Dansa, working with repertoire of internationally renowned choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Jirí Kilyán, Stijn Celis and Nacho Duato, among others.
She is part of the artistic team of the Catalan company La Veronal for more than 10 years now, and there Lorena Nogal works alongside Marcos Morau as choreographer and assistant dancer, participating in both the company's own choreographies and in external creations.
As a choreographer, she has presented her own choreographic work, with which she has won prizes in national competitions. For example, she was considered best female performer at the Catalonia Critics' Awards in 2016.
In 2018, together with several fellow students of the Institut del Teatre, she launched the project HOTEL - col-lectiu escènic, a new dance company that was born with the desire to build intersections that allow them to inhabit the imaginary and the world of other artists. To this end, they invite artists from different areas of performing arts to create works and direct the company. The group debuted in 2018, with two short pieces, at the Hiroshima performance hall.
