FΛRSΛ is a stage piece by Catarina Miranda, created for three performers and a stage machine inspired by 19th-century optical toys. The piece explores the concepts of perception, deception and transmission as forces that shape our contemporary experience.
Drawing inspiration from Plato's allegory of the cave, FΛRSΛ is developed as a composition of moving matters — a choreography of light, sound and matter exploring illusion and manipulation and reflecting on how disinformation shapes our perception of truth and reality. The piece deconstructs the idea of a singular narrative and analyzes how perspective and framing turn facts into perceptions.
