Telmo Branco (they / them) is an activist and interdisciplinary queer artist, living between Lisbon and Berlin. They studied theater, dance and sound design. Their work aims to reflect on individuals and their oppressive history.
The Unspeakable - Part 3, their work about structural sexual violence and the culture of silence, is presently on tour. The project has the support of the Goethe Institut in Lisbon, the German dance support program Dis-Tanzen-Solo, the German dance platform Dachverband Tanz Deutschland and the Neustart Kultur program. Their work The Tradition won the Air Scope Berlin prize and their film The Tradition - The Film received honorable mentions at the following festivals: Make art no fear (PT), MIFA - Madeira International Film Awards (PT), Multiplié Dance Film (NO) and Europe NOW Film Festival (UK).
Telmo has collaborated with artists from different fields, such as Ren Mauney (USA), Veronica Riz (IT), Helena Waldmann (DE), Nir de Wolff (IL) , Annelie Andre (AT), Alexandra Pirici (RO) and Falk Richter (DE), among others.
