Tânia Carvalho (Viana do Castelo, 1976) is a multidisciplinary artist, best known as a choreographer, with over two decades of creative work. In addition to her own productions (Versa-vice, Onironauta, Captado pela Intuição, among others), her choreographic work includes pieces created in collaboration with companies such as the Lyon Opera Ballet, the Company of Elders, the National Ballet of Portugal (CNB), Dançando com a Diferença, the Ballet National de Marseille — (LA)Horde, ŻfinMalta — National Dance Company, and Tanzmainz, among others. Among her musical projects, Madmud, Idiolecto, and dubloc barulin stand out. With musician and performer Matthieu Ehrlacher, she formed the duo Papillons d'éternité (Pieris Napi, Greta Oto, Lyropteryx Appollonia, and Nymphalis Antiopa). Other highlights in her career include Um Saco e uma Pedra, a dance piece for the screen, her first film; and Toledo, an ever-changing drawing exhibition which has been running for almost a decade. She was conferred the title of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French government.
