Sofia is Luso-Slovenian, and she grew up in Trieste, Italy. Having studied ballet at the Maribor Conservatory in Slovenia, she then expanded her horizons by taking the Languages and Literatures degree at UNITS. She went on to pursue her dance studies in Porto at Oficina ZERO, where she participated in pieces created by Mafalda Deville, Elisabeth Lambeck, and Horácio Macuacua.
She highlights her work as a performer with Edward Clug, Dario Cossutta, Luísa Mota, Daniel Matos, Ana Rita Barata, João Sanchez, Davis Freeman, Madalena Victorino, Francisco Camacho, Ana Jezabel, Paulina Olowska, João dos Santos Martins, and Kensaku Shinohara, among others.
She lives the body like an arena where deconstruction and celebration take place, in a constant search for emancipation and pleasure. In 2021, she created the solo LADYLIKE, presented at the Multiplicidades and Danceproject festivals. In 2022, this project was selected to be presented at Projeções (Balleteatro) and, in 2024, it was included in the MNJC (Gerador).
