Lara Peres Rocha began her artistic journey in Lisbon. In 2015, she enrolled in the photography program at the António Arroio School of Art, where she received training in the visual arts, which she complemented with intensive dance training. In 2019, she moved to the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in dance. In 2023/24, she joined the Scottish Dance Theatre as an apprentice dancer. She has worked with international choreographers, including Joan Clevillé, John-William Watson, Ben Wright, and Rita Marcalo. She has also engaged in collaborations and research projects with Charlie Morrissey, Roser López Espinosa, Satoshi Kudo, and others. She is currently developing her solo work ‘Por Assim Dizer,’ a continuation of the research conducted for the ‘Full Half Empty’ project in collaboration with Ben McEwen. She works on dance projects, creates spaces for research and training, and develops a body of work in illustration as part of her multidisciplinary practice.
