Catarina Miranda is an artist in whose work image, movement, voice, scenography and light intersect and the body is approached as a vehicle for the transformation and mediation of hypnagogical states, as well as for the gestures and procedures of the visceral consciousness of the present. She has created pieces characterized by the construction of postnatural topographies and oracular bodies, focusing on perception and fictional dramaturgies. She highlights the stage pieces ΛƬSUMOЯI, CABRAQIMERA, DREAM IS THE DREAM, REIPOSTO REIMORTO and BOCA MURALHA, presented at such places and events as Centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Museu de Serralves, Teatro Municipal do Porto, the Pays de Danses Festival, and the Short Theatre Festival.
She presented the visual installation works POROMECHANICS at Centre Pompidou, the Walk&Talk Festival and Teatro São Luiz; DIAGONALANIMAL at the Fabrik Festival; and MOUNTAIN MOUTH at Dance Box and Maizuru RB.
Miranda completed the Exerce Master's Program in Choreography at ICI-CCN, in Montpellier, and graduated in Visual Arts from Universidade de Belas Artes do Porto. She also studied noh at the Kyoto Art Center.
In 2024, she was nominated for the Salavisa European Dance Award (SEDA), granted by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.
