Week III
In its eight edition, the Young Composers Program continues to promote a collaborative spirit and to foster interactions among artists in creation processes. This year, it focuses on the artistic areas of composition, writing, and choreography. The third and last week will be dedicated to the creation and experimentation synergy between three choreographers and the three composers, who will continue the work developed during the first two weeks. This time, their proposals will be set in motion, the activities being coordinated by Luís Tinoco and co-coordinated by Victor Hugo Pontes.
During this intensive period, young composers and choreographers are challenged to collaborate in the creation of short performances, responding to proposals made by the coordinators. Each challenge has a very short execution time, requiring quick and intuitive responses, more impulsive than reflective. All the composers work with the three choreographers, crossing ideas and languages in different contexts. This is a privileged space for experimentation, where mistakes are welcomed and failure is part of the creative process. A moment to test initial ideas, without judgement, shaping what might become.
As happened in Week II, a presentation of results open to all audiences will be held in the iconic Studio 1 at the EVC, on May 31st, around 3pm.
