A racialised body that never touches the floor for the entire duration of the performance. Another body that becomes the floor for the first. “WE MIGHT AS WELL TALK” stems from research into touch, through a forced/imposed position involving two bodies, one on top of the other, which is never reversed and where they are compelled to communicate and cooperate towards a common goal. An interdisciplinary fusion of theatre and dance, of the spoken word and contact improvisation techniques, of voice and body. A duet that explores the possible relationships that arise when two bodies are placed in this situation of extreme interdependence, and a search for the physical and mental limits we are capable of reaching.

Um corpo racializado que nunca toca o chão durante toda a duração da performance. Outro corpo que se torna chão do primeiro. "WE MIGHT AS WELL TALK" parte de uma pesquisa sobre o toque, através de uma posição forçada/imposta a dois corpos, um em cima de outro, que nunca se inverte, onde se vêm obrigados a comunicar e cooperar para um fim comum. Um cruzamento interdisciplinar entre o teatro e a dança, entre a palavra e as técnicas de contacto improvisação, entre a voz e o corpo. Um dueto que se questiona sobre as relações possíveis quando dois corpos são colocados nesta situação de extrema dependência e uma procura dos limites máximos físicos e mentais que conseguimos alcançar.

With the aim of supporting independent artistic creation, this program hosts artists and collectives working in the field of dance or in areas of artistic intersection, both national and international, for a maximum period of two weeks.

Applications are accepted continuously throughout the year, and residencies are scheduled in our calendar on a first-come, first-served basis. Since their beginnings, the EVC have been a space where multiple languages coexist, directly meeting the needs of the artistic community.
