We often experience a quiver in the nose. The chin trembling. The bladder in our eyes filling up. The urge to cry. Because we're sad, because shampoo gets in our eyes, because we've been given good news or because laughing also makes us cry. As we grow up, we create a unique relationship with this urge.

Maria Abrantes (Ereira, 1998) is a performer, creator and artist. She expresses her work through the body, choreography, illustration, writing, tattooing and sculpture. She is now developing her first piece for children, entitled Que Vontade de Chorar [What an Urge to Cry].
