Between what happens and what is yet to be named, "O que se abre em nós" is the new duet by Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz, artists At Home at the EVC.

Seven years after O que não acontece, Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz return to the duet, the format that best reflects both their artistic complicity and the intensity of a collaboration spanning nearly two decades. Their duets appear as intimate moments of sharing with the audience—of sharing states of presence, perspectives on the world, on what it means to live, to destroy and to build with another.

In this new duet, O que se abre em nós, the choreographic, sound and textual materials arise from Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz' research on the struggle between the banality of everyday life and the intensity of the stage. Featuring songs from past creations and personal archive materials, the piece situates itself somewhere between a bizarre musical, a conversation, and a dance that resists being named. Sofia and Vítor contemplate what they have made, they reinvent their past and test new ways of being together. From their shared history, they make their dependence on the stage a vanishing point for reflecting on what it means to go on. And to go on together.
