A variety of themes and formats have already been explored in previous editions of Meeting for the Future a programme by Estúdios Victor Córdon. In the present edition, we return to a performative format, with the aim of fostering thought, discourse and practice, facilitating encounters between artists, and between artists and the public. The focus is on the artistic reality of Mozambique in dialogue with that of Portugal.
“Making the making speak”, conceived by David Marques and Teresa Silva, stems from a desire to create contexts in which dance artists can articulate their thoughts and discourse on their own practices, promoting active listening, encounters between artists and sharing with the audience.
In 2026, three editions dedicated to an exchange between Mozambique and Portugal will take place. At the Lisbon performances, Assunta Chioze and Osvaldo Passirivo will join Henrique Furtado Vieira and Natacha Campos to share words and dance, inviting the audience to gain an insight into their journeys, concerns and ways of seeing the world.
“Making the making speak” stems from a desire to bring artists and audiences together around the issues that drive and run across artistic practices in dance, trusting in these as fundamental sources of knowledge production. With this project, we seek to develop different approaches that foster and support thought, speech and listening, exploring the possible relationships between their performativity – as public display and sharing – and the more intimate dimension of the reflections that are produced.
