ENCRUZA explores Yorùbá metaphysics as an epistemological device in Afro-Brazilian dance. Based on Exu, the work constructs scenic-ontological strongholds that articulate body, diaspora and memory, bringing myth and contemporaneity into dialogue in choreographic production.

ENCRUZA pesquisa a metafísica _yorùbá_ como dispositivo epistemológico da dança negro-brasileira. A partir de Exu, a obra constrói redutos cênico-ontológicos que articulam corpo, diáspora e memória, colocando em diálogo mito e a contemporaneidade na produção coreográfica.

With the aim of supporting independent artistic creation, this program hosts artists and collectives working in the field of dance or in areas of artistic intersection, both national and international, for a maximum period of two weeks.

Applications are accepted continuously throughout the year, and residencies are scheduled in our calendar on a first-come, first-served basis. Since their beginnings, the EVC have been a space where multiple languages coexist, directly meeting the needs of the artistic community.
