On the 17th of June, around 6:30pm, we welcome Confluências, by Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz, an attempt to reconcile three different projects: Dispositivos, created for TBA in 2020; Instalação ("Installation"), which occupied part of the CCU — Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown in 2023; and the project Arrumar a Casa, which started this year at the EVC and in which the artists seek to sort out their 20-year archive. Confluências is a type of performance, installation, and “open” archive where the artists test different ways of presenting their work, while also looking for clues for future research. In this event, visitors can freely move around the Bar and Studio 1 at the EVC building and watch a series of movement and text research pieces, performed by seven artists collaborating with the duo. While wandering around, visitors will find different scenographic objects from the performances, as well as videos, music, and podcasts produced in recent years and rarely shown to the audience. The event will also feature a set of reading, drawing, and writing exercises that are usually part of the duo's workshops, and which were systrmarized under the concept of simultaneity, as well as some “finds” from their archive—photographs, rehearsal videos and other materials—timidly placed in the nooks and crannies of the EVC.
