_Blitz_ explores the convergence between choreography and lighting design, taking as a starting point the idea that light doesn't just illuminate the scenic space, but rather establishes a symbiotic dialogue with the organic bodies. The word "blitz" refers, in English, to the act of mixing ingredients together with an electric machine and, in German, to lightning, a natural phenomenon consisting of a sudden flash of light, caused by an intense electric discharge between clouds or between a cloud and the ground. It is in this territory of friction that _Blitz_ reveals itself as a hybrid composition, based on the ephemeral and reciprocal relationship between elements that generate light and movement.

_Blitz_ é uma criação que mergulha na convergência entre coreografia e desenho de luz, partindo da premissa de que a luz não se limita a iluminar o espaço cénico, mas, antes, estabelece um diálogo simbiótico com os corpos orgânicos. O termo "blitz" remete, em inglês, para o ato de misturar elementos com uma máquina elétrica e, em alemão, para o relâmpago, fenómeno natural que se manifesta num clarão súbito e breve, resultante de uma intensa descarga elétrica entre nuvens ou entre uma nuvem e o solo. É neste território de fricção que a criação se revela como uma composição híbrida, delineada na relação efémera e recíproca entre elementos geradores de luz e movimento.

With the aim of supporting independent artistic creation, this program hosts artists and collectives working in the field of dance or in areas of artistic intersection, both national and international, for a maximum period of two weeks.

Applications are accepted continuously throughout the year, and residencies are scheduled in our calendar on a first-come, first-served basis. Since their beginnings, the EVC have been a space where multiple languages coexist, directly meeting the needs of the artistic community.
