From an early age, Tiago Martins immersed himself in competitive gymnastics, as well as in the study of dance, theatre, and dramatic arts. He has a degree in Painting and is trained as a Fitness Instructor, while building a worldwide career as a performer, dancer, and new circus artist, giving shape to his creativity and practice wherever he lives. Under the motto “the body in its totality”, he is currently developing his research in various languages related to Movement, drawing influence from Ido Portal (with whom he studied for 5 years, between 2016 and 2021), Fighting Monkey Practice (Linda Kapetanea & Jozef Fruček), Tom Weksler, Roser Tutusaus, W. Vandekeybus, D. Zambrano, Alexander Vantournhout, Shai Faran, Martin Kilvady or Peter Jasko, among many others. He observes and studies the body as a vehicle for functionality, intellect, and artistic expression. He is the organizer of several international events within Movement Culture and the co-founder of Portugal’s only Movement schools, Movement Lisboa, 2017 (where he is a director and teacher) and Movement Porto, 2024.
