Tiago Martins immersed himself in the study of dance, theater, and dramatic arts at an early age. He pursued education in Painting and Sports Science while building a career as a performer, dancer, and contemporary circus artist worldwide, giving shape to his creativity and practice according to where he lived. Under the motto “the body in its totality”, he explores various languages related to Movement, drawing influence from Ido Portal, Fighting Monkey (Linda Kapetanea & Jozef Fruček), Tom Weksler, Roser Tutusaus, W. Vandekeybus, D. Zambrano, Alexander Vantournhout, Peter Jasko, among many others. He also observes and studies the body as a vehicle for functionality, intellect, and artistic expression. He is the organizer of several international events within Movement Culture and the co-founder of Portugal’s first Movement schools, Movement Lisboa (where he teaches and educates) and Movement Porto.
