Tiago Barreiros

Trained at the National Conservatory Dance School and the Dutch National Ballet Academy with a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (FCG), Tiago Barreiros began his career in 2016 at INTRODANS, directed by Roel Voorintholt. In 2020, the dancer joined the cast of Companhia Portuguesa de Bailado Contemporâneo (CPBC), by Vasco Wellenkamp, and projects by Benvindo Fonseca, Quorum Ballet (by Daniel Cardoso), and COMPOTA, by Paula Pinto.

His first choreographic experience was the work Dar Movimento à Europa, funded by FCG in 2019. In 2020 she began a partnership with Beatriz Mira, developing her choreographic vocation. Reconnecting with his background in music and voice, in 2021 he co-created Quimera, with Carlota Rodrigues, for the Children's Choir of the University of Lisbon, and in 2023 he collaborated with soprano Camila Mandillo in Apparition, making his debut in opera staging.
