Sete Anos

Artists

Cultural Association

Sete Anos was founded in September 2021 and operates in the fields of artistic and cultural creation, programming and training. Although it is a very recent association, it builds on a body of work spanning some 30 years, developed by the choreographer Cláudia Dias, an artist of national and international renown in the field of contemporary dance, who has conceived and led numerous artistic and educational projects in Portugal and other European countries, such as Spain and Italy.

It aims to operate in a glocal manner, fostering partnerships and projects at local, national and international levels.

It is an association comprising people with extensive experience in their professional fields, such as dance, theatre, state education, the business world, organised sport, journalism, music, and cultural management and production. These individuals come from the cities of Almada, Porto and Montemor-o-Novo.

Sete Anos’s mission is to promote contemporary artistic creation and access to it. It also aims to foster the social inclusion of young people and more vulnerable groups through artistic practices, as well as artistic creation by women.

It is underpinned by values centred on the defence of people’s cultural rights, notably the right to cultural creation and enjoyment, in accordance with the constitutional principle.

Its vision is one of gradual and sustained growth. The aim is for the association to carry out consistent and long-lasting activities, built on stable and secure foundations, whilst seeking the support of structural partners committed to the medium and long term. It aims to work as part of a network, always seeking to share resources and knowledge.
