Rita Vilhena is a choreographer, performer, and contemporary dance researcher with a career focusing on transformation and participation through art. Her work has been presented at important spaces and events across the country, including Serralves — O Museu como Performance, Arquipélago — Centro de Artes Contemporâneas, Galeria ZDB/Negócio, Espaço Alkantara, the Temps d'Images Festival, and A Gráfica — Centro de Criação Artística. In addition, it has been presented internationally in places such as the Netherlands, Austria, Macau, Hong Kong, Brazil, Thailand, and Egypt. She was awarded first prize in the Solo Dance Contest at the Gdansk Dance Festival in Poland. She is also the founder and artistic director of the Portuguese association Partícula Extravagante.
