Mafalda Lemos (Porto, 2002) is a composer and Portuguese guitar player.
She began her musical studies with classical guitar at the age of seven, accompanied by Luísa Moutinho, and at the age of nine she began taking Portuguese guitar lessons with Carlos Semedo.
She enrolled at the Conservatório de Música do Porto to study Portuguese guitar, guided by Pedro Pinto until completing the 8th grade.
She holds a degree in Composition from the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, where she studied with Carlos Caires, Ana Seara and Luís Tinoco and where she is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Composition under the guidance of Luís Tinoco. She has also attended masterclasses and composition classes with Valerio Sannicandro, Luiggi Abbate, Fabio De Sanctis De Benedicti, Slavomír Hořínka and Michele Tadini.
As a composer, she has written for different instruments and ensembles, with works performed at the Vianna da Motta Auditorium, Casa da Música Jorge Peixinho, Estúdios Victor Cordón; her piece “Dissociação” was commissioned and recorded by the Euterpe Guitar Duo on the album Reminiscências Iridescentes. She is fascinated by the instrumental repertoire of the Portuguese guitar, to which she has contributed through compositions that bear her artistic stamp.
