In 2023, Young Composers reaches its 6th edition and proposes a collaboration between composers, visual artists and choreographers. Once again coordinated by composer Luís Tinoco, Victor Hugo Pontes (dance) and João Penalva (visual arts) also collaborate in their respective areas.
The program's participants are students from Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML), Escola Superior de Dança (ESD), Escola Superior de Artes e Design, and Concrète Lab Ensemble.
This year, the program was divided into three parts: week I, dedicated to musical composition, took place in January; week II, which brought together composers and visual artists, took place at the end of February and beginning of March; and now, at the end of May, begins week III, which brings together composers and choreographers, and will lead, like the other two, to a presentation of the work developed so far, to take place on June 3rd, 2023, at the EVC.
Between May 29 and June 3, the composers Eva Aguilar, João Pacheco and Ricardo Almeida and the choreographers Ana Isabel Castro, Gaya de Medeiros and Marta Jardim will be working together at the EVC.
