Over the course of two weeks, we welcome artist-in-residence Connor Scott with Cat-Gut Jim, a work performed in ancestral drag which invokes the immaterial presence of Edward Corvan, a renowned violinist and folk artist from Tyneside (1831). Connor appropriates E. Corvan’s archive for a ceremonial performative moment, creating space for a single-body duet while simultaneously summoning the ghosts of his own dance.
