Pedro Ramos is the Artistic Director of Ordem do O, working as a choreographer, a dancer, a researcher, a visual artist, a musician, a singer, and a dance and Hatha Yoga teacher.
He graduated from Escola Superior de Dança and attended a postgraduate programme in Dance Movement Therapy and Non Verbal Communication at UAL. In the present, he teaches Analysis and Composition Techniques at Escola de Dança do Conservatório Nacional, and also instructs a subject focused on the body, part of the Theater course at Escola Superior de Arte e Design (Caldas da Rainha).
He is a Master student in Movement Theater at Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema.
As a performer, he has worked with several national and international artists, among which Madalena Vitorino, Clara Andermatt, Stephan Jurgans, José Laginha, Félix Lozano, Claudia Novua, João Lorenço, Luca Aprea, Silke Z., Ana Rita Barata, Sofia Belchior, Né Barros, João Brites and Paulo Ribeiro.
As a creator, he is the author of Coexistência, _Saindo do Escuro... , Minuto, VídeoDança 06, Room (in collaboration with and based on the work of visual artist Noam Bem Jacocov), Memória de uma Origem, InAdega (co-creation with Sofia Belchior), Órbita do cérebro na planta da mão, Atractor Estranho, Diário Metafísico, Quadratura do Espaço Curvo, Coniunctio, Rizoma, Corpo Anímico and Metamorfoses, among other works.
Throughout his career, he has received awards and recognition, both individually (best contemporary dancer 2008 - Gala Dance Awards RTP1; Medal of Merit IPL- 2009) and collectively (Caruma, best dance performance for PÚBLICO in 2007; O Aqui, 2009; Saga - Ópera extravagante, nominated for the Portuguese Golden Globes also in 2009; Txt - 1. Experimenta Design Award; Corpo Todo, 15º Caminhos do Cinema Português; Menção Quixote - 1st prize SPA).
